James Hayes- Financial Planner in Caringbah seeks a Client Relationship Manager who will own client relationships end to end, from onboarding to post‑meeting follow‑ups, working directly with the principal adviser to grow the practice.
You are highly organised, client‑facing and tech‑savvy, with a view to expanding into workflow and practice‑management as the firm grows to multiple advisers and locations.
This is not a traditional administration role.
We are a boutique financial advice practice in Caringbah looking for someone who wants to own client relationships, not process paperwork. You will work directly alongside the principal adviser, you will have real visibility of how the business is run, and the role is built to grow into practice management.
We advise around 130 family groups across the Sutherland Shire: professionals, business owners and pre-retirees aged 40 to 70. It is a premium, high-touch practice, with fewer clients, deeper relationships and advice that materially changes people's retirement outcomes. We are growing into a multi-adviser, multi-location business, and the next stage of that growth depends on this hire.
You are the client's first call and their steady point of contact.
Managing the client experience end to end: onboarding, review scheduling, follow-ups and everything that happens between meetings
Owning advice implementation, from application through to confirming it has been done properly
Liaising with platforms, insurers, accountants and solicitors on the client's behalf
Preparing meeting packs and keeping client records complete and compliant
Briefing and managing our offshore client service associate and paraplanner
Working in Xplan and improving how our systems fit together
Improving how the practice runs. You will find the things that are slow or manual, and you will be expected to fix them
Over time, taking on workflow, team and practice-management responsibility
Client Relationship Manager, then Senior Client Relationship Manager, then Practice Manager.
We are deliberately hiring someone who wants their role to be substantially bigger in three years than it is on day one. If you want a stable role that stays the same size, this is not it.
Polished and warm with clients, and comfortable dealing with successful people
Extremely organised, with the judgement to prioritise without being told
Intelligent and curious. You want to understand the advice, not just process it
Confident with technology and quick to pick up new systems
Reliable and proactive. You close loops without being chased
Ambitious, and building a career rather than filling a role
Financial planning experience is highly regarded but not essential.
We are very interested in strong client-facing people from accounting, legal, mortgage broking, private banking and wealth management, or other professional services. If you have managed clients, worked to deadlines and supported partners or principals in a professional firm, we can teach you financial planning systems and processes.
What we are not looking for is general office administration experience.
Build a serious professional-services career without the CBD commute. If you live around Cronulla, Caringbah, Miranda, Gymea, Kirrawee, Sutherland or Menai and you are currently giving up two hours a day to the train, this is a chance to get that time back and take on more, not less.
$85,000 to $100,000 base plus superannuation, and a performance bonus
Direct mentoring from the principal and genuine exposure to how a growing advice business is built
Support to learn the fundamentals of financial advice, and support for further study where relevant
A defined path to Practice Manager as we grow to multiple advisers and locations
Office-based in Caringbah for the first three to six months while you learn the clients, systems and business. Once you are established and performing well, we are open to a regular work-from-home day.
