Job summary

FedEx Australia is seeking a Customs Clearance Agent to help keep international shipments moving by ensuring fast, compliant, and accurate clearance. You will identify issues before they impact delivery, work with customers and government agencies to resolve complex clearance matters, and keep shipments flowing efficiently through our global network.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations within required timeframes.

• Build relationships with customers, freight forwarders and internal stakeholders to ensure shipments move efficiently.
• Investigate and resolve customs, compliance and documentation issues before they impact service commitments.
• Monitor changes in customs regulations, tariff schedules and trade compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service and Sales teams to deliver service outcomes.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to excellence initiatives.

At FedEx, our Clearance Agents play a critical role in connecting customers to global markets. This is more than a transactional customs role. You'll be the person who identifies issues before they impact delivery, works with customers and government agencies to resolve complex clearance matters, and ensures shipments continue moving through our network efficiently and compliantly.

What You'll Be Working On

• Coordinate and manage customs clearance activities for import and export shipments.
• Review customs documentation including invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, permits and other trade documents.
• Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations within required timeframes.
• Liaise with customs authorities and other regulatory agencies to facilitate shipment clearance and resolve issues.
• Build strong relationships with customers, freight forwarders and internal stakeholders to ensure shipments move efficiently through the network.
• Investigate and resolve customs, compliance and documentation issues before they impact service commitments.
• Monitor changes in customs regulations, tariff schedules and trade compliance requirements, providing accurate guidance to customers and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Customer Service and Sales teams to deliver exceptional service outcomes.

What We're Looking For

Current Driver's Licence (mandatory).

• Ability to perform manual handling tasks as required.
• Willingness to undertake occasional driving duties as part of the role.
