Job summary

Bupa Waratah is seeking a dedicated cleaner to support our aged care residents with empathy and respect. You will maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and comfort in resident rooms and communal areas, contributing to a welcoming living environment.

Flexibility across shifts is welcomed, with duties spanning room cleaning, bathrooms, light laundry and catering support as needed. Excellent communication and a person-centered approach are essential to uphold Resident Rights and care

Qualifications

• Cert III Hospitality is highly regarded.
• Aged care experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes.
• Flexible availability for a variety of shifts throughout the week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain legislated safety, quality and hygiene standards.
• Clean patient rooms, bathrooms, communal and living areas.
• Complete required documentation and reporting.
• Ad hoc support to the broader team, including laundry and catering.

About the Home

Bupa Waratah is a modern care home set in the quiet residential suburb of Waratah, Newcastle. You will be close to the local community with Waratah village shopping centre, parks including Blackbutt reserve, Newcastle Harbour and local beaches. It consists of 109 beds, with a variety of care units. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents.
