Job summary

Gordonvale Family Medical Centre in Cairns is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join our casual evening roster. The role focuses on maintaining a hygienic, welcoming environment for patients, clinicians, and staff, with duties covering clinical and non-clinical areas.

The shift is approximately 4pm–7pm, three evenings per week, with the possibility of a two-person crew to share duties and cover for leave. Training will be provided before the current cleaner departs, and we value environmentally

Qualifications

• Demonstrated cleaning experience, healthcare or aged-care preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and high cleanliness standards.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures is an advantage.
• Interest in environmentally responsible cleaning practices.
• Available 3 evenings per week from ~4pm to ~7pm.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and common areas each evening.
• Replenish soap, paper towels, and cleaning products.
• Clean shared spaces, including toilets, hallways, foyers, windows, doors, and staff areas.
• Report maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager.
• Assist the Facilities Manager as required.
• Clean and sanitise clinical and non-clinical areas, including waiting and consulting rooms.
• Empty bins and manage waste per health and infection control guidelines.

Cleaner – Casual (Evenings)

Gordonvale Family Medical Centre is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team on a casual evening basis. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for our patients, clinicians, and staff.
As reliability is vital in this position, we are open to a dynamic duo arrangement, where two cleaners can share duties and provide cover for each other during leave.

Key Duties

• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and common areas thoroughly each evening.
• Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning products.
• Perform general cleaning across shared spaces, including toilet facilities, hallways, foyers, internal windows, doors, walls, and staff offices.
• Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the Facilities Manager promptly.
• Assist the Facilities Manager as required.
• Clean and sanitise clinical and non-clinical areas, including waiting rooms, consulting rooms, and staff spaces.
• Empty bins and manage waste in accordance with health, safety, and infection control guidelines.
• Our talented cleaner is departing Cairns and could do the job three evenings a week x 3 hours per shift. Ideally you can start as soon as you're able to be shown how to do the job before she leaves. She says its a cruisy job!

About the Candidate

• Demonstrated cleaning experience, with healthcare or aged-care experience highly regarded.

• An interest in a local house clean locally is highly regarded
