Job summary

ASM Global is seeking Casual Event Cleaning Team members for the Newcastle Entertainment Centre. Join a venue that hosts local, national and international events and be part of a team delivering immaculate presentation and high-quality guest experiences.

Flexibility to work weekends, weeknights, and public holidays is required. The role involves working across departments, maintaining cleaning standards, and ensuring safety with chemicals and equipment at the venue.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy cleaning environment at a large venue or commercial cleaning operation.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.
• Ability to manage large numbers of patrons in public areas.
• Attention to detail and thorough cleaning standards.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Cleaning Supervisor with supervisory tasks and safety operations.
• Act as backup to the Senior Cleaning Supervisor when required.
• Maintain site to standard and perform general cleaning of site and amenities.
• Empty bins, keep tidiness, follow a set pre-event/during-event/post-event task schedule, maintain chemicals/equipment.

Our Presentation Services Team Members play an integral role in ensuring the immaculate presentation of the Centre across all scheduled events.

We are looking for team members who are;

• Experienced in working in a busy cleaning environment across a large venue or commercial cleaning operation;
• Previous team supervisory experience (preferred);
• Have the ability to work with large numbers of patrons congregated in the Centre’s public areas;
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team within a fast paced environment high level attention to detail and thorough cleaning standards;
• Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks;
• Excellent communication skills;
• A commitment to delivering high-quality work and exceptional customer service;
• Positive energy and physical fitness for a hands-on role;
• Health & Safety standards in relation to the handling of all equipment & chemicals;
• Repairs & Maintenance capabilities will be looked upon favorable/ but not essential.

The role:

• Assisting the Senior Cleaning Supervisor with supervisory responsibilities, including safety and operational tasks.
• Act as backup to the Senior Cleaning Supervisor when required
• The role will include keeping the site maintained to a standard as well as general cleaning of site and amenities, emptying bins, ensuring general tidiness. We have a set schedule of tasks to be completed prior to, during events and post events.
• Maintain all chemicals and equipment.

Working in the venue and event industry means supporting the delivery of events across our event calendar. This means that weekend, evening and public holiday work will be required.
