Job summary

Anvers Confectionery Pty Ltd in Latrobe, TAS is seeking a motivated part-time cleaner. The role supports a busy visitor attraction, with responsibilities across visitor areas, production zones, and staff facilities.

You will help maintain a clean, safe environment seven days a week, with weekdays, some weekends, and public holidays work. The position requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week and offers opportunities for additional hours and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in all areas.
• Help keep production areas clean, safe and hygienic.
• Clean floors, staff facilities, common areas and sanitize facilities.
• Clean visitor facilities, restrooms and common areas.
• Empty bins and manage waste disposal.
• Sweep, mop, dust and clean windows.
• Assist in cleaning factory equipment.
• Wash dishes in café and kitchen areas.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
• Report maintenance issues or hazards to management.

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable part-time cleaner to join our team in one of the region's leading tourist attractions.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards, has strong attention to detail, can lead by example to foster a positive and productive work environment, and can provide guidance to our younger team members.

The position is essential in ensuring that our visitors and staff enjoy a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. We are open 7 days a week, and the position would include weekdays, some weekends, and public holiday work.

This job requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
• Assisting in maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic production environment
• Cleaning factory floors, production areas, staff amenities, common areas and sanitising facility
• Cleaning visitor facilities, including restrooms, and common areas
• Emptying bins and managing waste disposal
• Sweeping, mopping, dusting and window cleaning areas
• Cleaning factory operational equipment
• Café and kitchen dishes
• Operating cleaning equipment and using cleaning chemicals safely
• Reporting maintenance issues, supply shortages or hazards to management

About you

• Previous industrial or commercial cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, organised and self-motivated
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual cleaning tasks
• Understanding of workplace health and safety practices
• Following all workplace health and safety procedures at all times
• Confident to lock the building up at the end of the day with another staff member
