Job summary

Lumen Christi Catholic College in NSW invites applications for a Classroom Support Assistant. This role supports classroom teachers to help students with diverse learning needs access the curriculum and participate effectively.

The position is part-time (14 hours per fortnight) with salary around $75,935 FTE plus superannuation, and includes access to professional development, wellbeing programs, and opportunities to transfer within the Archdiocese.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in School-based Education Support or undertaking an ITE program or experience as Classroom and Learning Support Assistant.
• NSW WWCC clearance is required.
• Knowledge of Hazardous chemicals per WHS 2017 NSW and Animals in Schools per Animal Research Act 1985 NSW.
• Accreditation in line with Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers to ensure students with diverse learning needs can access the curriculum.
• Assist with activities to achieve academic goals and social skills for independent learning and confident participation.

About the Role

The Classroom Support Assistant is a member of the classroom support team that plays a key role in supporting classroom teachers to ensure that all students with diverse learning needs can access and participate in the curriculum and activities to achieve the academic goals and social skills required for independent learning and confident participation.

Qualifications and Eligibility

• Certificate III in School-based Education Support or be undertaking an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) university program of study or experience as Classroom and Learning Support Assistant
• NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  
• Sound knowledge of Hazardous chemicals as per the Work, Health and Safety Regulations 2017 (NSW) and Animals in Schools as per the Animal Research Act 1985 (NSW)
  
• Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy
