Job summary

Lumen Christi Catholic College, part of the Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CACGEL), is seeking a part-time Classroom Support Assistant. You will help teachers enable students with diverse learning needs to access and participate in the curriculum in a supportive learning environment.

Your role focuses on developing academic, social and independent learning skills while collaborating with a caring school community.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in School-based Education Support or pursuing an ITE program or experience as Classroom and Learning Support Assistant.
• NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required.
• Knowledge of Hazardous chemicals per NSW WHS regs and Animals in Schools per NSW Animal Research Act.
• Accreditation per Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers to ensure students with diverse learning needs can access and participate in the curriculum.
• Assist in developing students' academic, social and independent learning skills.
• Contribute to inclusive classroom environments and safety practices.

The Classroom Support Assistant works with teachers to support students with diverse learning needs, helping them access and participate in learning and school activities while developing academic, social and independent learning skills.

Salary Range: $75,935 full-time equivalent plus superannuation
Employment Status: Part-time | 14 hours per fortnight
Eligibility: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Start Date: Negotiable

About the Role

Qualifications and Eligibility

• Certificate III in School-based Education Support or be undertaking an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) university program of study or experience as Classroom and Learning Support Assistant
• NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Sound knowledge of Hazardous chemicals as per the Work, Health and Safety Regulations 2017 (NSW) and Animals in Schools as per the Animal Research Act 1985 (NSW)
• Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy
