Responsibilities
- The Class Lead is accountable to the Deputy Project Director and is responsible for the program and lifecycle management of their allocated Class within the Maritime Sustainment Model.
- You will collaborate with and develop effective working relationships across the Asset Class Enterprise, to deliver on the responsibilities of ensuring the allocated ship Class achieve the targets set by Navy (across Safety, Availability, Capability and Efficiency) and meets the contractual and internally scoped requirements.
- You will lead an expert team to success by setting the vision, building the plan and using your unique leadership skills to foster a strong and safe team culture that delivers truly innovative solutions.
- This exciting and challenging role is responsible for lifecycle performance, customer satisfaction, and operational readiness, leading through coordination and strategic influence across technical, engineering, supply and maintenance domains.
- This role ensures operational outputs are prioritised, risks mitigated, and meeting customer needs through responsive and informed action.
- Right now, the company is experiencing exciting growth across the country, and in this role, you will be a member of both the System and Supportability IPTs focused on the Asset Management and Performance of your allocated Class.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the initial POC for all information related to the assigned class, including maintaining a holistic view of the Class capability, scheduled activities, operations, maintenance, engineering, supply, issues, risks and requirements.
- Provide leadership and direction to the in-region team.
- Work with other team leads, senior managers, and discipline/functional leads regarding overall resource availability and competency to deliver outcomes most effectively and efficiently.
- Lead the Class to deliver against the performance to technical, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Support the financial management of the class.
- Drive the management and maintenance of an Integrated Master Schedule for all Class related activities.
- Identify and manage Class risks, issues, and continuous improvement (e.g. to the availability, supportability, capability and affordability, providing mitigation strategies for pursuit and recommended actions to mitigate and maximise safe and effective Class operation).
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- In a collaborative enterprise environment.
- In Sustainment and Capability Life Cycle Management Programs/Asset Management framework.
- Implementing or managing asset management standards managing diverse teams.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (including briefing papers, presentations, and reports).
- A tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in a technical discipline.
- Experience in project management methodologies, including scope, schedule and risk management, proposal development, financial and commercial aspects.
- Previous experience in naval sustainment programs (highly desirable).
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
