Job summary

Marsh in Brisbane is seeking a Claims Executive to join the Strata Claims Team. The role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence at least three days per week and will involve handling strata and homeowner claims with exposure to healthcare and liability lines.

You will manage end-to-end claims, interpret policy terms, and negotiate outcomes for insurer clients while building strong relationships with clients, assessors and repairers.

Qualifications

• Ideally 1–2 years of strata or landlord insurance experience.
• Experience meeting deadlines and SLA timeframes (including GICOP).
• Broad knowledge of the insurance industry and claims processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with clients, repairers, assessors and external stakeholders including insurers.
• Ensure client interests are protected in claims and that clients are kept informed of developments with expectations well managed.
• Manage end-to-end insurance claims pursuant to GICOP requirements, ensuring compliance with guidelines, standards, and internal SLAs.
• Interpret and make decisions on policy terms, conditions and exclusions up to Delegated Authority amounts; escalate claims as needed to secure the best claim outcome.
• Identify and flag suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims for internal review and investigation; provide feedback on claim trends to underwriters/risk assessors.
• Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines, court/AFCA decisions impacting claims functions, and policy changes; contribute to process and system improvements including accurate reporting and claims data.

Description: We are seeking a talented individual to join our Strata Claims Team at Marsh. This role will be based in Brisbane – 111 Eagle office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Claims Executive in the Strata Claims Team, you are responsible for proactively managing a varied portfolio of strata and homeowner claims. There will also be some exposure to other lines of business such as healthcare and liability claims. You will oversee the entire claims process, delivering exceptional service, thoroughly evaluating claims to determine policy coverage, and skilfully negotiating favourable outcomes for insurer clients.
