Job summary

TAL is seeking a Claims Consultant in Sydney, New South Wales to manage life insurance claims from start to finish. The role focuses on delivering a best-in-class customer and client experience, coordinating with advisers, trustees and fund administrators, and finalising payments in a timely manner.

You will work with external doctors and in-house experts to achieve optimal claim outcomes while maintaining adherence to company philosophy and procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in life insurance claims management within a group policy, IP/TPD preferred
• Strong analytical, problem solving and time management skills
• Excellent communication and empathy to support customers during challenging times

Responsibilities

• Manage life insurance claims from start to finish end-to-end
• Provide regular communication on claims status to advisers, trustees and fund administrators
• Assess, analyse, calculate and finalise claim payments
• Engage external treating doctors, rehabilitation consultants and in-house medical/legal specialists
• Deliver exceptional customer service in line with claims procedures
• Participate in case conferences and instruct third party service providers

Claims Consultant, REST TAL Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

Job Description

As a Claims Consultant within our Group space for our REST fund, you will manage life insurance claims from start to finish, providing a seamless experience for our customers.

In this role you will:

• A key focus of this role involves providing a best-in-class customer and client (e.g. advisers, trustees, fund administrators) experience, including regular communication in relation to the status of claims and managing expectations, to deliver on quality health and claim outcomes.
• Independently managing a portfolio of TPD and IP claims end-to-end
• Assess, analyse, calculate and finalise claims payments
• Active engagement of external treating doctors, rehabilitation consultants as well as in house medical and legal specialists and delivering timely outcomes for our customer
• Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with our philosophy, policy and claims procedures
• Participate in case conferences, peer case discussions, and instructing third party service providers

Qualifications

• Life insurance claims management experience within Group policy - IP and/or TPD claims experience is ideal OR;
• Workers Compensation or Return to Work claims management experience with an Allied Health background
• Strong analytical, problem-solving & time-management skills
• Excellent communication & empathy to support customers during challenging times.
• Solid understanding of injuries, illnesses and treatment
