Job summary

Hannover Re Australia is seeking a Claims Assessor to join the Life & Health subsidiary in Sydney. This permanent role reports to the Claims Assessment Manager and focuses on timely claim assessment in line with contract terms.

You will work across groups, applying policy terms and regulatory requirements, while collaborating with medical and operations teams to ensure positive customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' technical knowledge of direct and/or group life insurance.
• Experience applying insurance legislation and regulatory requirements, including LICOP and RG271.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to use AI-enabled tools in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess claims in line with policy terms, regulatory requirements and service standards.
• Manage life insurance claims portfolios across a range of claim types.
• Respond to claim reviews and participate in discussions on complex cases.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders throughout the claims assessment process.
• Contribute to projects, process improvements and ongoing business initiatives.
• Support strong risk management, compliance and governance practices.
• Maintain business processes and documentation.
• Collaborate across claims, medical and operational teams to deliver positive customer outcomes.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Claims Assessor to join our Life & Health Subsidiary in Sydney.

Reporting directly to the Claims Assessment Manager this permanent role will be responsible for ensuring that all claims are promptly assessed in line with the terms and conditions of the relevant insurance contract.

You can look forward to

• Managing Group and Retail life insurance claims portfolios across a range of claim types.
• Assessing claims in line with policy terms, regulatory requirements and service standards.

You come equipped with
