Job summary

A & B Civil Contracting on the Mareeba Shire is seeking a trade-qualified Civil Plumber/Drainer for the Lloyd Street Sewer Replacement Project. This is hands-on civil plumbing work in a live urban network, not domestic maintenance.

Install gravity sewer mains, maintenance holes and rising mains, and assist with pump-station works. Local Tablelands/Cairns-based applicants are encouraged; full-time site role with overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Current QBCC Occupational Licence - Plumber and Drainer (Queensland). Provisional licences considered if you can work under a licensed plumber on this site.
• Construction White Card
• Current Queensland driver licence and reliable transport to Mareeba
• Proven civil plumbing / drainage experience - sewer or stormwater mains, not bathroom and tap work only
• Comfortable working in trenches and around plant
• Unrestricted right to work in Australia

Responsibilities

• Install gravity sewer pipework to line, level and grade from construction drawings and set-out
• Build and connect maintenance holes, including benching, drops, covers and connections
• Install sewer rising main pipework and associated fittings
• Assist with civil works around FRP and reinforced-concrete sewage pump stations
• Joint, bed, haunch and backfill pipe to specification
• Carry out and record pressure, air and deflection testing as directed
• Work around live sewer, existing services and traffic in a town-street environment
• Read civil drawings, set-out tables and ITPs; complete daily dockets and as-built mark-ups
• Follow the site WHS plan, SWMS, confined-space and trench-safety controls
