Job summary

Civil Services Group is a Queensland-based specialist Civil Project Management and Delivery Company, regularly tendering in Brisbane and greater QLD. We seek experienced Civil Project Managers for 1–2 year assignments with possible extensions, capable of managing budgets, labour, materials and subcontractors for road construction and maintenance projects.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent), TMR PMC01 advantage, 5 years Australian civil roads experience, drivers

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia as a full Member (MIEAust) or alternatives like Bachelor of Tech / Civil may be acceptable if you have work experience.
• Prior TMR Pre-Qualification as PMC01 would be a distinct advantage.
• At least 5 years Australian experience in Civil Roads Infrastructure working with QLD Councils, DTMR or Australian State Road Authority.
• Must have current drivers licence.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting, programming, monitoring expenditure, controlling resources and reviewing priorities.
• Manage Labour, Plant, Materials and Subcontract within budget and time constraints.
• Contract management activities including client liaison.
• Procurement of road making materials and project services within guidelines.
• Implement PM techniques and systems in accordance with processes.
• Submit reports to management within timeframes.
• Train and guide project staff on specifications and construction processes.
• Contribute to estimating process for bids or offers.
• Maintain a high standard in traffic management.
• Work with TMR Technical Specifications and project management tools.
• Utilise Project Management Systems including Safety and Environment.

Job description

We are regularly tendering for works in the Brisbane &/or greater QLD area and are seeking expressions of interest from experienced professional Civil Project Managers in the road construction / maintenance industry interested in joining us and capable of committing to the following assignments for a period of approximately 1 - 2 years with a possibility of ongoing extensions and other projects.

• Budgeting, programming, monitoring expenditure, controlling resources and reviewing priorities.
• Manage Labour, Plant, Materials and Subcontract within budget and time constraints.
• Undertaking various contract management activities including client liaison.
• Procurement of road making materials and project services within guidelines.
• Implement PM techniques and systems in accordance with systems and processes.
• Submit reports and provide information to management within timeframes.
• Train and guide project staff on specifications and construction processes.
• Contribute to the estimating process for bids or offers.
• A high standard in traffic management.
• Strong experience & knowledge of TMR Technical Specifications,
• Working knowledge of 3PCM, SAP, P6 or other similar project management packages an advantage,
• Strong written, verbal communication & computer literacy skills,
• Experience with QMS, and their effective application on construction projects,
• Experience with Project Management Systems, including Safety and Environment.

The hours are variable from 40 per week+ , however longer hours & weekend work may be required to suit work load. The roles can be Brisbane &/or greater QLD based, however some work away in regional or remote locations may be required depending on requirements.

Qualifications

• Possession of a degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Civil Engineering qualification, which is accepted by the Institution of Engineers Australia as a full Member (MIEAust) or alternatives like a Bachelor of Tech / Civil etc may be acceptable if you have the work experience.
• Prior TMR Pre-Qualification as a PMC01 would be a distinct advantage.

You must have the right to work in Australia, with well-developed interpersonal and consultative skills, at least 5 years prior Australian experience in the Civil Roads Infrastructure Industry working with QLD Councils, DTMR &/or any Australian State Road Authority, directly or indirectly & Strictly Australian Residents, already living here only.

You must also possess a current drivers licence.
