Role Description

This is a contract, temp-to-perm on-site role based in Adelaide, SA for Civil Plant Operators experienced with excavators, dozers, and graders. Day-to-day responsibilities include operating heavy civil plant and machinery safely and efficiently on earthworks and construction sites, following site plans and supervisor instructions. The role involves performing basic pre-start checks, reporting defects, and assisting with routine maintenance tasks to keep equipment in optimal working condition. Operators are expected to maintain high-quality work standards, complete allocated tasks within set timeframes, and adhere to all safety, environmental, and company procedures. Team members will collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and other operators to support project delivery and may be required to operate additional equipment such as forklifts, depending on site needs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in civil plant operations, including Plant Operations and Machine Operation on excavators, dozers, and graders.
• Strong focus on Quality Control, with the ability to follow site plans and specifications and deliver accurate, consistent work.
• Capability to support Maintenance activities, including pre-start checks, basic troubleshooting, and reporting equipment issues promptly.
• Current relevant plant operating tickets, licences, and certifications compliant with SA regulations.
• Solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements on civil construction sites.
• Ability to work in an outdoor, physically demanding environment and follow instructions from supervisors and leading hands.
• Reliable transport to Adelaide, SA work sites and flexibility to work varying hours as project requirements change.
• Effective communication skills and a cooperative attitude toward working in diverse teams.
• Previous experience on civil infrastructure, subdivision, or roadworks projects is highly regarded.
• Experience in Final Trim, detailed earthworks and finishing works is highly regarded.
• Experience operating GPS-controlled machinery (Trimble, Topcon, Leica or UTS systems) will be highly regarded.
• Experience in bulk earthworks, cut-and-fill operations and road construction projects is highly regarded.
• Experience working around underground services, stormwater, sewer and water infrastructure is highly regarded.
• Operators with experience across multiple machine types are strongly encouraged to apply.
