Job summary

JRT Group is seeking experienced Civil Pipe Layers for Rockhampton, Yeppoon and surrounding areas. The role covers underground pipe installation, stormwater and drainage works, reading plans and ensuring precise grades with laser levels.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pipe Layer in civil construction.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans, drawings and level set-outs.
• Experience with installing PVC, PE and concrete pipe systems.
• Experience with stormwater and drainage underground works.
• Confident using laser levels for accurate grades and alignments.

Responsibilities

• Install, lay and join PVC, PE and concrete pipes to required specifications.
• Undertake stormwater, drainage and other underground pipe installation works.
• Read and interpret civil construction plans, drawings, levels and set-outs.
• Use laser levels and levelling equipment to ensure accurate pipe placement and gradients.
• Prepare trenches and pipe bedding, backfill and compaction per project specs.
• Work safely around underground services and with plant operators.
• Collaborate with supervisors and crew to achieve project outcomes.

CIVIL PIPE LAYERS - ROCKHAMPTON & YEPPOON

JRT Group is seeking experienced, reliable and safety-focused Civil Pipe Layers to join our growing team, working across a range of civil construction projects throughout Rockhampton, Yeppoon and surrounding areas.

With a number of current and upcoming projects, we're looking for skilled Pipe Layers who understand the importance of accuracy, can confidently work to plans and levels, and take pride in delivering quality workmanship.

This role requires more than just practical experience. We're looking for motivated, switched-on individuals who can work efficiently, take initiative and contribute positively to a productive and safety-focused team.

About the Role

The successful applicants will be experienced Civil Pipe Layers who are confident undertaking a range of underground pipe installation and civil construction works.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Installing, laying and jointing PVC, PE and concrete pipes to required specifications, grades and alignments
• Undertaking stormwater, drainage and other underground pipe installation works
• Reading and interpreting civil construction plans, drawings, levels and set-outs
• Using laser levels and other levelling equipment to ensure accurate pipe placement and gradients
• Preparing trenches, bedding materials and pipe foundations in accordance with project specifications
• Assisting excavator operators and other plant operators during trenching and pipe installation activities
• Undertaking backfilling, compaction and reinstatement works
• Using hand tools and construction equipment safely and efficiently
• Working safely around underground services, excavations and operating machinery
• Working collaboratively with supervisors, machine operators and other crew members to achieve project outcomes
• Maintaining a strong focus on workplace health and safety, productivity and quality workmanship
• Working Monday to Friday, with some Saturday work as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have proven experience working as a Pipe Layer within the civil construction industry
• Be confident installing and jointing PVC, PE and concrete pipe systems
• Have experience working on stormwater, drainage and underground services projects
• Be capable of reading and interpreting civil construction plans, drawings and specifications
• Be confident using laser levels and working accurately to required grades and alignments
• Have a sound understanding of trench preparation, pipe bedding, backfilling and compaction requirements
• Hold a current Construction White Card
• Be physically fit and comfortable undertaking hands-on work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Be reliable, motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team
• Have a strong work ethic and take pride in delivering quality work
• Demonstrate a commitment to workplace health and safety
• Have your own reliable transport
• Hold confined space training or certification - highly regarded
• Have experience working around underground services - highly regarded
• Hold relevant plant or machinery operating tickets - highly regarded
