Aspect Personnel is partnering with a large council in Melbourne’s south-east to place an experienced Project Engineer for a 12-month temporary role in Pakenham. You will join the Civil Infrastructure Projects team within the Assets and Capital Delivery directorate, delivering capital works across roads, drainage and bridges in a fast-growing region.

• Formal Civil Engineering degree required.
• Professional Engineer registration in Victoria or eligible.
• Experience delivering civil infrastructure projects (roads, drainage, bridges).
• Strong project management, procurement, and contract administration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions.
• Experience in local government, grants, or multi-stakeholder projects is valuable.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver allocated capital works projects across roads, drainage, bridges and infrastructure improvements.
• Manage scope, timelines and budgets; report on progress and spend.
• Prepare or oversee designs, briefs and contract documentation.
• Administer contracts and supervise consultants/contractors to completion.
• Coordinate with DoT, utilities and internal teams for approvals and permits.
• Develop communication plans and lead stakeholder consultation with residents.
• Conduct investigations (e.g., drainage) and propose design solutions.
• Respond to project correspondence and customer enquiries.

Aspect Personnel is partnering with a large council in Melbourne’s south-east to find an experienced Project Engineer for a 12-month temporary role based in Pakenham.

You’ll join the Civil Infrastructure Projects team within the Assets and Capital Delivery directorate. You’ll deliver capital works projects across roads, drainage and bridges in a fast-growing region.

About the role:Reporting to the Coordinator Civil Infrastructure Projects, you’ll manage civil projects from investigation and planning through design and construction. You’ll make sure each project is delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard for the community.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver your allocated capital works projects, covering roads, drains, bridges and other infrastructure improvements
• Manage project scope, timelines and budgets, and report on progress and spend against budget
• Prepare, or oversee the preparation of, designs, project briefs and contract documentation
• Administer contracts and supervise consultants and contractors through to completion
• Work with the Department of Transport and Planning, utility authorities and internal teams to obtain approvals and permits
• Prepare communication plans and lead consultation with residents and stakeholders
• Carry out engineering investigations, including drainage issues, and recommend design solutions
• Respond to project correspondence and customer enquiries

About you:

• A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Current registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Professional Engineer in Victoria
• Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects, ideally roads, drainage and bridges
• Strong skills in project management, procurement, contract administration and construction delivery
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to negotiate and build strong stakeholder relationships
• The confidence to work autonomously and make sound decisions
• Experience in local government, grant-funded or multi-stakeholder projects is highly regarded
• A current Victorian driver’s licence
