Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD – Townsville, QLD is seeking a Civil Engineer to contribute to delivery of road infrastructure across North Queensland. You will support planning, design, construction and maintenance activities, including contract administration, financial forecasting and quality assurance.

You will work with senior engineers, contractors and stakeholders to deliver practical engineering solutions, data-driven improvements and value for money while developing technical

Qualifications

• Four-year Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent per Engineers Australia.
• Eligibility to work in Australia.
• Current Class C driver licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with selecting and administering road construction and/or maintenance contracts to ensure compliance with TMR specifications.
• Identify project issues and negotiate appropriate modifications or solutions.
• Calculate material quantities, analyse test results, identify non-conformances and determine construction controls.
• Undertake and manage risk assessments.
• Manage projects or project elements under supervision and provide monthly financial forecasting.
• Support planning and design to achieve project outcomes, value for money and best practice.
• Apply quality management procedures and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
