Job summary

Northrop Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer for their Newcastle office to lead project teams and own technical delivery across built form, roads, and public domain works.

You will mentor rising engineers, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and manage projects from concept to construction while maintaining a strong client focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognised university.
• 3–5 years post-graduate experience on built form projects as a civil engineering consultant.
• Experience detailing design and documentation of roads, intersections, pavements, earthworks and stormwater drainage.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks autonomously.
• Experience with civil modelling software such as 12D Model, Civil 3D, DRAINS, MUSIC, AutoCAD.

Job description

You're an experienced civil engineer looking to take the next step in your career. You will lead project teams, taking ownership of the technical delivery of civil projects across built form, road infrastructure, high-density precinct development, and public domain works.

This role is based at our Newcastle office.

What You'll Own

As a Civil Engineer, you will be joining a professional and collaborative team of engineers, designers, drafters, graduates and undergraduates, working on a diverse range of projects across the built environment.

With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects for both new and existing clients, you will lead projects while being supported by a close-knit management team. You will be client-facing, with the autonomy of leading projects from concept through to construction and technical delivery, while having the support you need to succeed. You will act as a mentor to emerging engineers contributing to their technical development and continued growth of the civil section.

You will be part of a growing office with a great culture, including regular team catch-ups, office events and social activities.

What You Bring

• Ideally 3-5 Years of post-graduate experience working as a civil engineering consultant on built form projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognised university or institute.
• Experience preparing detailed design and documentation of roads, intersections, pavements, earthworks and stormwater drainage.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time, whilst working autonomously.
• Sound understanding of civil design software such as 12D Model and/or Civil 3D.
• Competent and independent use of other civil modelling software such as DRAINS, MUSIC and AutoCAD.
