Black & More is seeking an early-career Civil Engineer to take on increasing responsibility across a broad range of projects in Queensland. You will prepare designs for roads, drainage, bridges, and subdivisions, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and project requirements.

You will assist with planning, cost estimation, tender docs, and contract administration, while gaining exposure to client-facing activities and risk reviews under supervision.

Qualifications

The ideal applicant will fulfil a technically oriented role, whereby you'll: Prepare civil engineering designs, drawings and technical documentation for projects including roads, subdivisions, stormwater drainage, bridges and major culverts, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Standards and client requirements. Develop engineering specifications, determine appropriate construction methods and materials, and provide technical advice throughout the design and delivery of projects. Undertake site inspections, construction surveillance and quality assurance activities to verify works are completed in accordance with approved designs, specifications and contractual requirements.

Assist with project planning, cost estimating, tender documentation, contract administration and the assessment of design changes and variations throughout the project lifecycle. Analyse engineering data, site investigations and technical information to develop practical, safe and sustainable engineering solutions for civil infrastructure projects. Liaise with clients, contractors, government authorities and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities and provide technical engineering support.

Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure engineering outcomes meet safety, quality and project objectives. You'll be supported by experienced engineers and encouraged to develop your technical, project management, and client-facing skills. The ideal applicant will have a clear aspiration to achieve RPEQ registration and a desire to make a real impact through their work.

Requirements Civil Engineering degree qualification is required. 3 years of professional experience. Strong verbal communication skills to be able to present and articulate ideas to a wide variety of stakeholders.

Ability to meet timeframes. A client-focused approach to problem-solving. Ability to work as part of a team.

The drive to continue to develop their expertise. A current driver's licence.
