Job summary

Egis, a global engineering group, invites a Civil Designer to join the Perth team. You will deliver civil design for mining and land development projects using AutoCAD and 12D, and prepare construction documentation.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years in civil design, a Diploma of Engineering Technology (or equivalent), and good communication skills. Flexible Perth CBD arrangements include remote work options.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Engineering Technology (or similar) or significant experience as a civil designer.
• Proficiency in 12D and AutoCad 2D.
• Experience in mining sector highly desired.
• Ability to define problems and relevant constraints and risks and discuss with Engineers.
• Willingness to coach junior designers with advice on solutions and develop fit-for-purpose solutions to engineering problems.
• Ability to autonomously develop complex designs and drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisation.

As a Civil Designer working with our Perth team, you will focus on delivering comprehensive design work for civil projects using AutoCAD and 12D.

You will be responsible for

• Design and drafting of multi-disciplinary projects
• Preparation of construction documentation
• Review of drafting documentation
• Supporting and approving associated technical work directly related to the discipline
• Playing an active role in the business groups through regular meetings, workshops, training and business planning

Ideally, you will have 3-5+ years of experience in civil design within a professional services or consultancy environment. In addition, you will also have:

• Diploma of Engineering Technology (or similar) or significant experience as a civil designer
• Proficiency in 12D and AutoCad 2D
• A thorough understanding of civil design principles pertaining to mining, land development, storm water, flood modelling, civil infrastructure or roads (preferred disciplines)
• Experience working with clients in the mining sector highly desired
• Ability to define problems and relevant constraints and risks and discuss with Engineers
• Willingness to coach junior designers with advice on solutions and develop fit-for-purpose solutions to engineering problems
• Ability to autonomously develop complex designs and drawings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisation
