Job summary

The Constructive Collective in Newcastle, NSW seeks a Civil Design Engineer to contribute to residential subdivision, commercial and industrial projects.

You will design roads, stormwater, water and sewer reticulation and earthworks, prepare reports, liaise with councils and Hunter Water, and mentor graduates. A degree in Civil Engineering and 3–8 years' experience are preferred; CPEng/NER is desirable.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 3-8 years' experience in civil design, ideally within a consultancy.
• Strong working knowledge of 12d Model and/or Civil 3D.
• Experience with DRAINS or similar stormwater modelling software will be highly regarded.
• Design experience across roads, stormwater, water and sewer reticulation, and bulk earthworks.
• Familiarity with Hunter Water requirements and local council design specifications.
• Clear technical writing skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients and authorities.
• Working towards or holding CPEng or NER registration (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil designs for residential subdivision, commercial and industrial developments.
• Produce road, stormwater, earthworks and utility designs and drawings.
• Prepare stormwater management plans and supporting reports for DA and construction certificate approvals.
• Liaise with councils, Hunter Water and other authorities to obtain approvals.
• Coordinate with surveyors, planners and other consultants throughout project delivery.
• Provide design support during construction, including responding to RFIs and attending site.
• Mentor graduate engineers and drafters where required.
