Job summary

The Recruitment Hive Pty Ltd is seeking a Citrix Systems Administrator to deploy and maintain VDI solutions for a major Federal Government department in Canberra. You will install, configure and support Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, VMware Horizon and related infrastructure, with focus on AD, DHCP, GPO and scripting.

This full-time role requires IT qualifications and Citrix certifications; applications close Oct 26, 2026.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience deploying and maintaining VDI solutions such as Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, VMware Horizon or Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Diploma or higher IT qualification required.
• IT industry certifications or relevant experience preferred.
• Citrix-related certifications advantageous.

• Design, install, configure, maintain and optimise ICT systems and supporting infrastructure.

• Deploy & maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)

Our client, a major Federal Government department responsible for immigration, citizenship, border security, national security, cyber policy and social cohesion, require the services of a Citrix Systems Administrator.

Duties of the Citrix Systems Administrator

• Installation, management & support of desktop virtualisation technologies (Microsoft & Citrix);
• Design, install, configure, maintain, support and optimise of ICT systems & supporting infrastructure;
• Administration of Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops;
• Administration Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, Group Policy, File & Print &/or WSUS;
• Scripting (PowerShell, Python, PERL, Bash, Batch, or VBScript).

Skills and Experience Required

• Demonstrated experience in deploying and maintaining Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions such as Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, VMware Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop;
• Diploma or higher qualification in the field of Information Technology;
• IT industry certifications or relevant industry experience;
• Citrix related experience and/or certifications would be highly advantageous.
