Job summary

New Acland Coal Mine, operated by New Hope Group, seeks an experienced CHPP Maintainer Operator - Electrical to join the CHPP Maintenance Team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will work a 7/7 day/night roster and report to the CHPP Supervisor, ensuring safe coal production and effective coal delivery.

The role requires electrical trade qualifications and CHPP or heavy industrial maintenance experience, with strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills and knowledge of SCADA systems.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications in Electrical field and valid competencies.
• Experience in CHPP operations or heavy industrial maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair pumps, conveyors and sizing/screening systems.
• Experience with SCADA process control systems is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and breakdown maintenance on CHPP electrical equipment.
• Operate and monitor CHPP equipment to ensure performance and product quality.
• Fault finding, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure work complies with site procedures and safety requirements.

About New Acland Coal:

The New Acland Coal Mine (NAC), a thin seam open cut mining operation is owned and managed by New Hope Group. NAC is based 35km north-west of Toowoomba and plays a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002.

With stage 3 approved in 2022, the operation is set to continue production into the 2030s. When fully ramped-up, Stage 3 operations are expected to deliver about five million tonnes of saleable product per annum.

About the role:

As NAC continues to progress, we are seeking an experienced and motivated CHPP Maintainer Operator - Electrical to join the CHPP Maintenance Team on a permanent, full-time basis.Working a 7/7, day / night rotating roster and reporting to the CHPP Supervisor, the CHPP Maintainer Operator - Electrical plays a pivotal role in ensuring safe coal production and effective coal delivery.

What you will do:

• Conduct routine and breakdown maintenance activities on CHPP electrical equipment and infrastructure
• Operate, inspect and monitor both CHPP’s to ensure consistent performance and product quality
• Participate in fault finding, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site procedures and safety requirements

To be considered for this opportunity you will bring:

• Trade Qualifications within the Electrical Engineering fields
• Previous CHPP operations or heavy industrial maintenance experience
• Ability to conduct diagnostic troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of industrial pumping, sizing, screening and conveyor systems
• Experience in the use of SCADA control systems for process control will be highly regarded
• Experience with computer-based maintenance systems (desirable)
