Job summary

Thiess is seeking a CHPP Electrical Operator Maintainer for Lake Vermont Mine near Dysart, Queensland. The role focuses on safely operating, maintaining and servicing the Coal Handling Preparation Plant while supporting reliable plant performance and production outcomes.

Roster is 7/7 with a permanent employment type. Applicants should have a Queensland Electrical fitter Mechanic Licence, LVR/CPR competency and ideally an High Risk EWP Ticket to be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in CHPP environments or similar plants.
• Current Queensland Electrical fitter Mechanic Licence or equivalent.
• LVR/CPR competency and High Risk EWP ticket required or desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the CHPP safely and efficiently.
• Conduct inspections, fault finding, repairs and preventive maintenance on CHPP equipment.
• Support plant reliability and adherence to site safety standards.

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Electrical Maintainer with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence? Thiess is seeking a motivated CHPP Electrical Operator Maintainer to join our high-performing team at Lake Vermont Mine near Dysart.

As a key member of the CHPP team, you'll be responsible for safely operating, maintaining and servicing the Coal Handling Preparation Plant while supporting reliable plant performance and production outcomes.

Roster: 7/7 | Location: Lake Vermont Mine, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent

As the Electrical Operator Maintainer, you will:

• Operate and maintain all areas of the CHPP, ensuring safe and efficient plant operations.
• Conduct inspections, fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance on CHPP equipment.
• Contribute to plant reliability, continuous improvement initiatives and compliance with site safety standards.

About you

• Previous or current experience in a CHPP environment.
• Current Queensland Electrical fitter Mechanic License.
• Current LVR/CPR Competency.
• High Risk EWP Ticket.

Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and operational excellence.

Desirable but not essential

• High Voltage Switching Competency.
• Electrical Equipment Hazardous Areas Competency.
• PLC Experience.
