Journey Early Learning is seeking a motivated, passionate, and experienced Centre Manager to guide our Kawanateam in shaping the future of early education, while fostering an environment where both team members and children can thrive.

At Journey Early Learning Kawana, we are a two-building service that truly has that home away from home feeling. As you walk through our doors, you can see the relationships and connections our experienced team have with our families and community, and the purposeful spaces and resources that allow children to connect to their home environments.

Journey Early Learning Kawana is a 151-place centre with a brand new kitchen, programming and staff retreat room – not to mention 9 spacious rooms and 6 outdoor environments for the children and educators to truly explore.


About the role:

As Centre Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and regulations. Your primary focus will be leading, mentoring, and developing your team, while promoting best practices, driving continuous improvement, and engaging with the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high level of health & safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Managing the performance and success of your centre
  • Management of daily operations, budgets, wages, rostering, occupancy
  • Lead, coach, develop and support the professional development of your team
  • Developing strong relationships with families and the community
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Advocating for the rights of every child within your centre
  • Implementation and evaluation of quality programs that support the development of all children.


About you?

You are an experienced leader within the Early Childhood Education and Care sector, with a passion for shaping young lives and empowering future leaders, you'll thrive in a supportive environment that values your expertise and ideas.


Key Requirements

  • Strong leadership and coaching capabilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe, caring and supportive environment for all children and their families
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to the ECA code of Ethics and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours while engaging with children
  • ACECQA-approved Diploma in Children’s Services or bachelor’s degree (Early Education)
  • Current Valid Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate
