Job summary

The TheirCare team is seeking a dedicated Children and Youth Disability Support Worker to join the TheirCare Plus program at Coomera State Special School on the Gold Coast. You will provide individualized support, implement developmentally appropriate activities aligned with NDIS goals, and help with routines and positive behaviour strategies in a collaborative school setting.

Qualifications

Experience in disability services, education, or a related human services field.
Confidence supporting children and young people with high and complex support needs.
Strong understanding of person-centred active support and inclusive practice.
High attention to detail and commitment to safeguarding and quality.

Responsibilities

Provide individualised and group-based support for children and young people with complex disability needs.
Implement engaging, developmentally appropriate programs aligned with participants' NDIS goals.
Maintain a high level of supervision and ensure safety and wellbeing at all times.
Work in a collaborative team environment within staff-to-participant ratio.
Support the daily routines, transitions and positive behaviour strategies.
Complete documentation and reporting in line with NDIS and internal quality requirements.
Participate in ongoing training and reflective practice.
