Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Child Care Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 0 to 5 in our early learning centres. You will plan menus with the Centre Director, maintain a safe kitchen, and ensure dietary needs are met while supporting a positive learning environment.

The role offers a secure, permanent part-time position with a 25-hour work week, 12% superannuation, competitive leave entitlements, and access to training, Fitness Passport and wellbeing programs.

• Plan menus with the Centre Director and cater for individual dietary requirements.
• Order food, kitchen and cleaning supplies to keep the service running smoothly.
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and ensure food prep areas meet high food safety standards.
• Attend staff meetings and training activities and contribute to day-to-day operation of the centre.

As a Child Care Cook, you prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks that support the health, wellbeing and development of children attending our early learning centres.

You prepare meals and snacks each day, ensuring they are ready on time and meet the nutritional, cultural and dietary needs of children aged 0 to 5. You plan menus with the Centre Director, cater for individual dietary requirements, and order food, kitchen and cleaning supplies to keep the service running smoothly.

You maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen, store food correctly, clean equipment and utensils, and ensure food preparation areas meet high food safety standards. You also attend staff meetings and training activities and contribute to the day to day operation of the centre.
