Job summary

Charles Sturt University seeks a visible Chief Information and Digital Officer to shape campus-wide digital strategy through 2030 and beyond. You will lead the IT division, drive multi-year transformation, modernising core platforms, strengthening cyber security and AI adoption, and building enterprise architecture and partnerships.

You will report to the COO, influence senior leaders, manage risk, and foster a culture of high trust and accountability across a distributed, regional university.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification and deep understanding of technology.
• Experience as CIO, Chief Digital Officer, Technology Director or senior technology leadership.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale digital transformation aligned to strategy.
• Experience creating secure, integrated digital ecosystems with excellent user experience.
• Strong knowledge of governance, risk, cyber security and regulatory obligations.
• Evidence of leading technology investment, vendor relationships and major portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Division of Information Technology across multiple campuses with ~150 staff.
• Translate university strategy into a clear, prioritised technology roadmap.
• Oversee multi-year transformation spanning platforms, cyber security, AI and enterprise architecture.
• Establish strategic partnerships with industry and technology providers.
• Provide strategic advice to executive, Council and committees on technology risk and opportunities.
