About the Opportunity

As Chief Health Information Manager, you will lead a dedicated team and play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, quality, security and accessibility of health information across the hospital.

You will:

• Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Health Information Services team
• Lead health information governance, medical records management and privacy compliance programs
• Drive excellence in clinical coding, documentation improvement and data quality initiatives
• Support effective funding outcomes through accurate and timely coding processes
• Ensure ongoing compliance with legislation, accreditation standards and industry best practice
• Partner with clinical and operational leaders to optimise systems, processes and performance
• Lead continuous improvement projects and digital health initiatives
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and service excellence

About You

You are a passionate and forward-thinking leader who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment and enjoys building high‑performing teams.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management
• Eligibility for membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA)
• Extensive experience in Health Information Management within a hospital setting
• Proven leadership success in developing and leading engaged, high‑performing teams
• Strong knowledge of health information legislation, privacy requirements, accreditation standards and clinical coding frameworks
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead people, change, drive improvement and influence outcomes
• A strategic mindset combined with a collaborative, patient‑centred approach
