This is an important executive appointment offering the opportunity to work closely with an experienced CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board, providing strategic financial leadership and commercial insight to support the organisation's continued development.

We are seeking an accomplished CFO who brings sound financial judgement, strong commercial acumen and, importantly, the emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships and influence at the highest levels.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and a trusted strategic adviser to the CEO and Board.

Supported by an established, high-performing finance team and an offshore finance services function, the successful candidate will have the capacity to focus on strategic financial leadership, business performance, capital management and governance.

The role calls for an executive who can see the broader commercial picture, contribute meaningfully to strategic discussions and confidently provide independent financial advice and constructive challenge.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board to shape financial strategy, business priorities and long-term commercial performance.
  • Providing clear, insightful financial advice that supports informed decision-making, investment priorities and sustainable growth.
  • Building strong, trusted relationships across the organisation and with key external stakeholders.
  • Leading treasury, capital management, cash flow and credit risk oversight.
  • Strengthening financial performance, reporting, governance and risk management frameworks.
  • Providing leadership and direction to an established finance function, ensuring continued capability, accountability and high standards.
  • Supporting strategic investment decisions, commercial initiatives and potential merger and acquisition opportunities.
  • Contributing to corporate governance and company secretarial responsibilities.
About You

You will be an experienced CFO with a demonstrated record of strategic financial leadership in a commercially complex organisation.

Your background will ideally include retail, wholesale, franchising, distribution or member-based organisations, where strong stakeholder relationships, commercial insight and sound financial management are central to success.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in a CFO appointment, with the confidence and credibility to operate as the organisation's senior financial executive.
  • Strong strategic and commercial capability, with the ability to contribute beyond the traditional finance function.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust and influence at CEO, executive and Board level.
  • High emotional intelligence, sound judgement and the ability to read situations, understand different perspectives and adapt your approach accordingly.
  • The confidence to provide independent advice, challenge constructively and hold your position on important financial and commercial matters.
  • Strong technical financial expertise, including treasury, credit risk, capital management, financial reporting and governance.
  • Experience in company secretarial responsibilities and working closely with Boards.
  • A track record of improving financial performance and strengthening financial reporting and governance.
  • The ability to lead, support and develop an established, high-performing finance team.
  • A recognised professional accounting qualification, as well as CA or CPA is essential.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, investment evaluation and complex commercial arrangements will be highly regarded.

Above all, you will be a confident, approachable and commercially astute leader who understands that effective financial leadership depends on strong relationships, clear communication and the ability to bring people with you.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful strategic contribution to an established Australian organisation with a distinctive business model and a strong platform for continued development.

You will work in close partnership with the CEO and Board, supported by an experienced finance team, with the opportunity to influence financial strategy, commercial performance and governance.
