Job summary

Coastal Advisory Australia Pty Ltd – Newcastle NSW is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function and drive growth strategies. You will shape financial strategy, oversee a high-performing team, and strengthen relationships with lenders and capital partners.

You will guide forecasting, reporting, governance and strategic decisions to support organic growth and acquisitions, while building scalable financial processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience across financial management and governance.
• Proven leadership of finance teams and scalable reporting.
• Experience in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and structuring.
• Strong experience managing banking relationships and capital partners.
• CA or CPA qualification with a related degree.

We’re seeking a commercially minded Chief Financial Officer to lead our finance function and support the next phase of Coastal Advisory Australia’s growth.

This is an opportunity to combine strong leadership with strategic influence, leading a high-performing finance team while supporting acquisition opportunities, strengthening capital partner relationships and building the financial capability needed to support our evolving business.

The impact you’ll have

You’ll help ensure Coastal has the financial insight to execute its growth strategy, make informed investment decisions and deliver sustainable business performance.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and develop the finance team, strengthening financial reporting, systems and controls.
• Oversee forecasting, cash flow, profitability and business planning to drive financial performance.
• Lead financial due diligence, valuations, transaction structuring and integration for acquisitions.
• Manage lender and capital partner relationships, funding facilities and covenant compliance.
• Oversee statutory reporting, tax, audit, financial governance and external adviser relationships.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for a strategic and commercially astute finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to influence business decisions, lead people and navigate complex financial and commercial matters.

You will have:

• Significant senior-level experience across financial management, financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial governance.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing finance teams, improving financial processes and building scalable reporting and control frameworks.
• Proven experience in mergers and acquisitions, including financial due diligence, valuation, earnings quality analysis and transaction structuring.
• Strong experience managing banking relationships, funding facilities, lender reporting, financial covenants and capital requirements.
• The ability to translate complex financial information into clear commercial insights, strategic recommendations and high-quality Board reporting.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline, supported by a CA or CPA qualification.
