The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, this is a rare opportunity to step into a pivotal Chief Financial Officer role where you will ensure the integrity of financial and management accounts, providing the Managing Director / CEO with financial insights and strategies to drive informed decision-making. You will lead and shape finance, administration, and payroll functions to drive governance, growth, and impact at the highest level of the business.

This opportunity will be based in our corporate head office in Melbourne, and will be ideal for a stable, proven Chief Financial Officer who can quickly make an impact driving innovation fostering a strong, positive culture and bringing a demonstrated track record of career success.

Success Profile:

  • CPA Qualified (or equivalent) with a relevant finance or accounting degree.
  • Demonstrated success as a Chief Financial Officer within a leading organisation.
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to innovate and drive sustainable growth.
  • Deep expertise in governance, compliance, and risk management with the judgement to influence executive and Board level decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, engage, and uplift teams while fostering a positive, high performing culture.
  • Experience in transport and logistics, industry will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic financial leadership to drive growth and long-term performance.
  • Deliver timely, accurate reporting and insight to support executive and Board decision-making.
  • Lead annual planning, budgets, and cash flow management to optimise returns and investment decisions.
  • Ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management across all statutory and regulatory obligations.
  • Oversee treasury, funding, and insurance programs to safeguard and strengthen the company's position.
  • Partner with executives and divisional leaders to deliver commercial outcomes and create value.
  • Manage financial reporting and compliance for OH&S and Comcare self-insurance including budgets, annual licence requirements and regulatory lodgements.
  • Inspire and mentor your team to build capability, foster a positive and high performing culture, while take people on the journey lifting performance through guidance, not just expectations.
