Job summary

Australia Climate Impact Initiative (ACII) invites a senior leader to establish and drive the new Climate Solutions function from Sydney or Melbourne, with hybrid WFH options. The role focuses on strategy, donor engagement, and building a high-impact funding pipeline in climate philanthropy.

You will curate opportunities, translate science into funder briefs, and build an expert Advisory Group while embedding First Nations leadership in Australia’s climate philanthropy.

Qualifications

• Substantive senior experience in climate/environment sector (10-15 years)
• Deep knowledge of Australian climate and biodiversity policy and advocacy
• Strong analytical, research, and impact measurement skills
• Ability to write inspiring, accessible narratives for donor audiences
• High commitment to First Nations rights and leadership

Responsibilities

• Strategic portfolio curation across climate, energy transition, nature, adaptation, and First Nations leadership
• Translate climate science and policy into clear donor briefs and tailored portfolios
• Establish an expert Advisory Group, conduct rigorous due diligence, integrate First Nations leadership
• Partner with Climate Lead Global Strategies to adapt due diligence methodologies to Australia and contribute local opportunities
