Job summary

Austin Health Pathology is expanding its network across Melbourne to provide diagnostic services in all aspects of Chemical Pathology. An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Chemical Pathologist to join our team.

To be successful you must be an AHPRA-registered Medical Practitioner, hold FRCPA in Chemical Pathology, possess MB/BS/MD, demonstrate CPD compliance, and show commitment to high-quality patient care, as well as ongoing research or clinical audit.

Qualifications

• Be a registered Medical Practitioner with AHPRA
• Hold Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Chemical Pathology
• Primary medical degree MB, BS or MD, or equivalent
• Must have appropriate training and experience in Chemical Pathology
• Evidence of up-to-date CPD compliance
• Commitment to high-quality patient care and to research/clinical audit

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and statewide. About the department

Austin Health Pathology provides services to Austin Health and the co-located Mercy Hospital for Women, and also numerous GPs and Specialists in the community. In addition, Austin Pathology has also taken on responsibility for a number of regional laboratories in the northwest region of Victoria. The laboratories included are Echuca, Swan Hill, Shepparton, and Mildura. Austin Pathology also provide oversight to several point-of-care sites including: Castlemaine, Seymour, Kyneton, Kerang, Cohuna and Kyabram. The anticipation is that this regional expansion will continue and more regional laboratories will become part of the Austin pathology network.

About the role

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Chemical Pathologist to join our expanding network at Austin Health Pathology to provide a diagnostic service in all aspects of Chemical Pathology.

About you

To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:

• Be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Hold Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Chemical Pathology
• Primary medical degree(s) MB, BS or MD, or equivalent
• Must have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Chemical Pathology
• Must provide evidence of up-to-date compliance with Continued Professional Development requirements
• Must demonstrate commitment to high-quality patient care.
• Must demonstrate commitment and ongoing activity in research and/or clinical audit
