Job summary

Aveo is seeking a Chef Manager for Peregian Springs Country Club, a large retirement living community near Peregian Springs Golf Club. You will lead the kitchen, oversee food prep, ordering, rostering, and menu input to ensure residents enjoy high-quality dining every day.

This permanent full-time role runs Monday–Friday 9.30–5.30pm, combining culinary leadership with community connection and resident-focused service.

Qualifications

Experience as a Chef in restaurant, hotel, healthcare or quality hospitality.
Experience with stock ordering systems, rostering, hiring and kitchen administration.
Hands-on leadership coordinating daily kitchen operations.
Strong communication and resident-focused approach.
Interest in retirement living and positive resident impact.
Certificate in Commercial Cookery required; Food Safety certification desirable.

Responsibilities

Deliver hands-on preparation of high-quality meals while maintaining kitchen operations.
Oversee ordering, stock control, food safety compliance, and kitchen admin.
Coordinate rostering and support recruitment/onboarding of kitchen staff.
Contribute to menu planning using resident feedback and dietary needs.
Plan and deliver catering for community functions and events.
Build relationships with residents and respond to feedback to enhance dining.
Guide and support the kitchen team in a collaborative, hands-on style.
