Job summary

General Public Scarborough is seeking an experienced Chef or Kitchen Manager to join a suburban venue with a strong community focus and a passion for sourdough.

The role offers a mix of shifts across the week with a rotating weekend roster, and the business is open to casual or full-time hours depending on experience. Pay rate will depend on experience and the Restaurant Industry Award guidelines.

Qualifications

• Positive energy and proactive attitude are essential.
• 1 year minimum experience in a kitchen is required.
• Experience with pizza is preferred.
• Experience in ordering and stock control is expected.
• Great teamwork and clear communication are important; ability to lead a small kitchen.
• Ability to prep and assist during busy service periods.
• Desire to develop new menu items and control costs.

General Public Scarborough is on the hunt for an experienced and reliable Chef or Kitchen Manager. We are a suburban venue with a strong focus on our local community and a big love for all things sourdough.

We are looking for someone who is available for a mix of shifts, throughout the week and with a rotating roster over the weekend. We are open to providing either casual or full time hours for this role.

An ideal GP Kitchen Manager should have the following:

• A positive energy & attitude every day
• Personal drive and strong work ethic
• Experience with pizza is preferred. Minimum of 1 year spent in a kitchen cooking is a must
• Experience in ordering and stock control.
• Great team work and communication skills. Ability to lead to a small kitchen time
• Ability to prep and assist during busy service periods.
• Desire to develop new menu items and control costs
