Job description

We are seeking an experienced Chef for our well-established business Kraving Foods Pty Ltd T/A Anagan Indian Restaurant Cranbourne located at Linden Tree Way Avenue Village Shopping Centre, Cranbourne North VIC 3977.

We require someone with experience in preparing Indian cuisine. The Chef will have several daily responsibilities, including:

  • Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures.
  • Manage and provide training to kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen assistants, coordinating tasks to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Visualize every situation and make independent decisions to handle tasks.
  • Manage staff and supervise them to ensure they are following the correct procedures.
  • Plan menus that incorporate seasonal ingredients and cater to various customer preferences and dietary needs.
  • Monitor and implement quality control procedures for dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
  • Estimate food and labor costs, and order food supplies.
  • Prepare and cook various dishes.
  • Explain and ensure compliance with hygiene regulations.

  • Shows initiative and takes a proactive approach to daily tasks.
  • Works well with others and has good people skills.

Skills and experience

  • Experienced trade certificate qualified Chefs with at least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
