Job summary

EATS Caloundra is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our busy Kawana café team. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting meals to a high standard while contributing to menu planning with management.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' relevant experience in a commercial café or restaurant kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting meals to a consistently high standard.
• Planning and developing menu items in conjunction with management.
• Monitoring food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Managing food preparation and kitchen workflow during busy service periods.
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and inventory control.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Supervising and supporting junior kitchen staff.
• Maintaining an organised, clean and efficient kitchen.
• Working closely with the café management and front-of-house teams to provide an exceptional customer experience.
