Job summary

Twelve Apostles Café, operated by Elizabeth Andrews Catering, on Victoria's Great Ocean Road, seeks a passionate Chef to join our fast-paced kitchen. You will work with the Head Chef to prepare high-quality meals across café, restaurant, and events with focus on consistency and food safety.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years’ experience in hospitality, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

1–2 years' experience working as a Chef in a café, restaurant, hotel, or similar hospitality environment.
Good understanding of food safety practices.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and presentation standards.
Ensure all dishes are produced consistently and efficiently during service.
Assist with food preparation and mise en place for daily operations.
Maintain high standards of food quality, portion control, and presentation.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
Assist with stock rotation, stock control, and minimising food waste.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen and Front of House teams to ensure efficient service.
Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture.
Perform other kitchen duties as directed by the Head Chef.
