Job summary

Benthing Bethanie Group seeks an experienced Chef to support residents across two Bunbury sites, BethanieElanora and Bethanie Fields. The role is part-time with a rotating schedule across two weeks, including Tue/Wed/Thu?

(The source lists Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun in both weeks) and remuneration of $37.28 per hour. You will lead a small kitchen team, develop menus, control portions and ensure food safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is required.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is required.
• Experience cooking for large groups in aged care, healthcare, hospitality or similar environment preferred.

Job description

We’re a leading, trusted not-for-profit organisation, and we’re proudly local to Western Australia, welcoming people in our aged care homes, retirement villages, community housing and more.

We are currently seeking an experienced Chef to provide support to our residents across two Bunbury sites: BethanieElanora and Bethanie Fields.

This role is offered on a part-time Basis.

Week 1:

Tuesday: 9:00 - 17:00

Friday: 9:00 - 17:00

Saturday: 9:00 - 17:00

Sunday: 9:00 - 17:00

Week 2:

Tuesday: 9:00 - 17:00

Wednesday: 9:00 - 17:00

Friday: 9:00 - 17:00

Saturday: 9:00 - 17:00

Sunday: 9:00 - 17:00

Renumeration: $37.28 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation and cooking of fresh, nutritious meals on site, ensuring a high-quality dining experience for residents.
• Order food supplies and manage stock, portion control and wastage within budget guidelines.
• Assist with menu development and delivery of the approved cycle menu, taking into account resident preferences and feedback.
• Lead, mentor and train kitchen staff in food preparation, presentation techniques and food safety practices.
• Ensure all dietary, cultural and special meal requirements are met in a responsive and person-centred manner.
• Deliver professional food service for residents, visitors and small functions, providing exceptional customer service.
• Maintain compliance with food safety legislation, the Food Safety Program and all required documentation and reporting requirements.

About You

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook preparing meals for large groups, ideally within aged care, healthcare, hospitality or a similar environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise and support a small team.
• Sound knowledge of food safety legislation, including the Food Act and Food Standards Code.
• Experience with ordering, stock control, budgeting and minimising food wastage.
• Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills.
• Commitment to person-centred care and delivering a positive dining experience for residents.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations.
