Job summary

Programmed is seeking multiple Chefs to join a leading aviation catering provider in Mascot. You will cook for airline passengers on a large-scale operation, handling hot meals across Thai, Indian, Chinese or Western menus, with morning and afternoon shifts.

This role requires a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, knife skills, HACCP discipline, ability to work five days including weekends, and Australian working rights.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
• Experience in Thai, Indian, Chinese or Western cuisines preferred.
• Must be able to pass Medical Check.
• Experience in bulk cooking environments highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Cook large batches of hot meals using industrial equipment per airline specs.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and monitor temperatures, maintain a clean workspace.
• Dish assembling, portioning, garnish prep and general kitchen prep.
• Prepare meals for Airline First Class and Business Class.
• Support special meal prep, VIP charter prep and packing as required.

Job description

Programmed is looking for multiple Chefs to join one of well-known aviation catering service providers, working across Cold/Hot Kitchen in Mascot, accessible by public transport.

Chef - Thai, Indian, Chinese or Western Cuisine

Shift: Morning shift 7am - 3pm, Payrate: $36.93 p/h for AM shift

Afternoon shift 2pm -10pm, Payrate: $42.33 p/h for PM shift

• Your duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Cook large batches of hot meals using industrial equipment like multi-functional boilers, following strict airline specs and schedules
• Follow HACCP guidelines, monitor food and fridge temperatures, and keep the work area clean
• Dish assembling, fruit portioning, cheese cutting, garnish prep
• Cooking for Airline First Class and Business class's appetizer
• Special meal prep, VIP charter prep and packing, etc

Requirement

• For Chef role, must have min Certificate III in commercial cookery
• Preferably having experience in either Thai, Indian, Chinese or Western Cuisines
• Require previous knife handling experience in kitchen
• Able to pass Medical Check
• Experience in bulk cooking enviroment will be highly regarded
• Available to work a 5-day roster (including public holidays, weekends, and morning or afternoon shifts).
• Full Australian working rights without hours limit
