Job summary

Hall & Prior Health & Aged Care Group is seeking a Cook/Chef to oversee kitchen operations at our 95-bed Fairfield aged care home. You will prepare, cook and present nutritious meals while leading a team of Cooks and Kitchen Hands in a busy, compassionate environment.

Applicants should have a proven track record in residential aged care cooking, a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, strong food safety knowledge, and Australian work rights. NDIS screening and vaccination are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a Cook or Chef in residential aged care (or similar).
• Must hold a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher.
• Excellent understanding of food safety and compliance with governing legislation.
• Organised and able to work in a busy kitchen with deadlines; strong customer service.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, influenza vaccination (or willingness) and Australian work rights.

• Casual role with Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm shifts currently available
• Oversee kitchen operations at our 95-bed Fairfield aged care home
• Prepare, cook and present appetising and nutritious food
• Lead, direct, inspire and mentor a capable team of Cooks and Kitchen Hands
• Manage ordering, effectively control stock and identify efficiencies to meet budget
• Encourage feedback to achieve continuous improvements

The recipe for success

• Proven track record as a Cook or Chef in residential aged care, with a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or higher)
• Currently available to work Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm
• Excellent understanding of food safety and proven ability meeting governing legislation
• Organised, able to work in a busy kitchen and meet deadlines, and strong customer service skills
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and influenza vaccination (or willing to obtain) and unlimited working rights in Australia
