Job summary

We are looking for a skilled Chef to join our friendly kitchen team on a part-time permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone looking for regular weekend work, with additional weekday shifts available as required.

THE ROLE

You will work as part of the St Hilary's kitchen team, preparing and delivering high-quality meals for residents. The focus is on food that is fresh, well-presented, and tailored to individual needs. You will work alongside the Head Chef and contribute to a kitchen that residents genuinely look forward to every day.

  • Prepare and cook meals to a high standard, including therapeutic diets and special dietary requirements
  • Follow recipe cards and defined menus consistently and to time
  • Assist with day-to-day compliance with the Food Safety Program guidelines
  • Maintain high standards of food handling and hygiene at all times
  • Assist with stock management and ordering
  • Support functions, events, and special occasions within the residence as required
ABOUT YOU

You have experience working in a commercial kitchen and take pride in producing quality food. Whether your background is in restaurants, hotels, catering, or another commercial environment, we are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and values creating positive dining experiences.

  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade experience
  • Background in restaurants, hotels, commercial kitchens and/or aged care,
  • Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate (required)
  • Availability for weekend shifts (mandatory for this role)
  • Reliable, team-focused, and takes pride in the standard of their work
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
