Job summary

The University of Melbourne is seeking a Change Implementation Officer in the Employment Compliance Directorate to lead high‑impact HR change and communications across faculties. You will design programs that help staff understand new employment expectations and strengthen compliance.

This role requires a tertiary qualification in Change, Communications, HR or business, plus experience with Prosci, HR policies, and tools such as SharePoint, Canva, MS365 Copilot and WorkDay.

  • Hold tertiary qualifications in Change, Communications, HR or business and bring substantial related experience.
  • Proven knowledge of Prosci, HR policies, procedures, legislation and enterprise agreements.
  • Experience using SharePoint, Canva, MS365 Copilot and WorkDay.

  • Develop clear communications, guidance materials and web content that support workforce compliance and behaviour change.
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across faculties, portfolios and HR to ensure relevant, accepted change initiatives.
  • Support Instructional Designers and HR Policy team to maintain contemporary, accessible HR policy and work instruction frameworks.
  • Research change management methodologies, employment and sector trends, gather data and contribute to briefings, reports and submissions on compliance related issues.

Role type: Full-time; Fixed Term Department/School: Employment Compliance Directorate, Office of the Provost; Salary: UOM 7: $111,275 - $120,453 p.a. plus 17% super.

What you will deliver

  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of Prosci, HR policies, procedures, legislation and enterprise agreements, ideally within higher education.
  • Proven experience using SharePoint, Canva, MS365 Copilot and WorkDay.
  • Offer proven experience designing and delivering complex change programs in large, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Apply strong problem‑solving and critical thinking to translate complex issues into clear, practical guidance for staff.
  • Excel at stakeholder engagement, building trust and finding common ground with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Thrive working both independently and collaboratively, contributing to strategic projects that uplift organisational capability.
