Job summary

The Institute of Internal Auditors-Australia seeks a CEO or senior executive to lead strategy, operations and finances, acting as the profession’s primary spokesperson. The role involves diversifying revenue, strengthening governance and representing Australia internationally.

You will partner with the President and Board to advance the strategic plan, oversee budgets, programs, and operations, and champion high performance across a value-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Proven CEO or senior executive experience in a professional association, member organisation or not-for-profit.
• Advocacy experience influencing government and industry.
• Strong financial acumen including budget management and reporting.
• Sound knowledge of ACNC governance, director duties and board reporting.
• Experience engaging international networks with cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor the strategic plan in partnership with the President and Board.
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and governance standards.
• Oversee finances, operations, technology, and core programmes including conferences and certification.
• Lead a high-functioning executive leadership team and volunteers; foster a values-driven culture.
• Represent the profession with government, regulators, standard-setters, boards and executives; influence policy.
