Description du poste

Not many CEOs can say that everything their organisation earns goes back into giving people a safe place to call home. At Pacific Link Housing, that is the whole point. After more than four decades of growth, the Board is looking for its next Chief Executive Officer to lead the Group into its next chapter.

About the Group

Pacific Link Housing is a Tier One registered community housing provider and registered charity. Our mission is simple: we provide safe, secure and affordable homes for those in need.

Today the Group is home to more than 2,300 residents in over 1,450 homes across six local government areas, with a team of 60+, annual revenue of $20-35m and total assets of more than $100m.

What sets us apart:

  • We build our own homes. We are one of the few community housing providers that acquires its own sites and delivers greenfield development, reinvesting the margin into more housing. Since 2016 we have completed 159 new homes, with most of our developments winning State and National industry awards. More than 89 homes are in the current pipeline.
  • We have diversified with purpose. Key2 Realty (est. 2019) and Renew Projects (est. 2024) are social enterprises whose profits flow straight back to tenant programs and improvements to tenant homes.
  • We take on the work that matters. We are leading the development of Imara Place, a Women and Children's Domestic Violence Trauma Recovery Centre backed by a $20 million Australian Government commitment, opening in July 2027.
  • We run like a business, with heart. We have just completed a full modernisation of our operational, finance and asset systems, and we have been recognised with multiple awards as an employer of choice.

The role

Reporting to the Board, you will hold a Group-wide remit across Pacific Link Housing, Key2 Realty and Renew Projects.

As the Group has grown, the Board has followed the lead of the sector's top performing providers and created a dedicated Group Business Development role. This frees the CEO to focus on what matters most: leading people, building influence with government and stakeholders, and steering the Group's strategy.

You will:

  • Be the face and voice of Pacific Link, building strong relationships with Homes NSW, Housing Australia, the Registrar of Community Housing, local councils, peak bodies and community partners
  • Lead and unify a capable Executive Team, building a values-based culture that puts wellbeing and safety first
  • Working alongside the board to oversee the broad strategic direction of the organisation.
  • Drive the financial sustainability of the Group, including budgets, debt management, risk, compliance and governance
  • Champion tenant wellbeing through quality tenancy and asset management, satisfaction above benchmark, and effective tenant capacity building programs
  • Grow the profile, standing and impact of the Group across the region
About you

We seek a strong leader possessing commercial skills with heart. Someone with the capacity to understand the importance of who we serve, values our amazing team & can partner with the board to achieve success.

You might be a senior leader in community housing, or you may bring your experience from property, infrastructure, government or the commercial world and be ready to put it to work for a real purpose. What matters most is that you bring:

  • Senior executive experience, including working with and reporting to a Board at or above the level of Pacific Link's current remit
  • Strong financial literacy and commercial acumen, with an understanding of property development and complex funding models
  • Confidence and decisiveness, with the judgement to balance commercial reality with social impact
  • Outstanding communication and relationship skills, equally at ease with a Minister, a council General Manager or a tenant
  • Resilience, warmth and genuine respect for the work our frontline team does every day
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience. Knowledge of the community housing sector, the not-for-profit sector and the ACNC is highly regarded
Why this role
  • A strong, well recognised brand that opens doors across the region
  • An experienced, supportive Board and a highly capable Executive Team
  • An attractive executive remuneration package
  • The ability to contribute to something meaningful, using your Executive talents to grow the cause, the team and opportunities for the people Pacific Link serves.
