Job description

Next Level Consulting Solutions – Brisbane QLD

An unique CEO opportunity for someone equally comfortable in the boardroom and under the bonnet of a technology platform.
We are representing an Australian technology business that has developed a sophisticated, fully integrated software platform for the Finance industry.

We're looking for a Chief Executive Officer capable of leading the business through its next stage of growth, both in Australia and internationally.
This is not a conventional CEO appointment
There are already capable people across business development, software development, project management, testing, IT administration and client delivery.

We're not looking for someone to come in and simply manage.
We want someone who can bring the whole operation together.
Someone capable of sitting with a major lender or multinational organisation, understanding their business and articulating how the platform can solve complex operational problems.
But when that conversation becomes technical, we don't want the CEO to disappear from the room.
You need enough depth in technology and software development to understand what is being proposed, challenge assumptions, communicate effectively with developers and make informed decisions around product direction, integrations, implementation and delivery.

The role
You'll take overall responsibility for the direction and performance of the business, working closely with the owners and existing leadership team.
That will include:

  • Leading the commercial growth strategy in Australia and internationally
  • Engaging directly with major prospective clients and strategic partners
  • Understanding client requirements and translating them into achievable technology outcomes
  • Providing direction across development, product, projects, testing, IT and business development
  • Ensuring different areas of the business remain aligned around the right priorities
  • Establishing clear accountability, timeframes and delivery expectations
  • Understanding development pipelines and ensuring resources are being deployed appropriately
  • Balancing commercial opportunities against development complexity and product strategy
  • Helping determine what should be built, what shouldn't be built and what should be prioritised
  • Ensuring client promises remain aligned with technical reality
  • Building the structure required for the company to scale

Chief Executive Officer – FinTech / SaaS

An unique CEO opportunity for someone equally comfortable in the boardroom and under the bonnet of a technology platform.
We are representing an Australian technology business that has developed a sophisticated, fully integrated software platform for the Finance industry.

The role
You'll take overall responsibility for the direction and performance of the business, working closely with the owners and existing leadership team.
That will include:

  • Leading the commercial growth strategy in Australia and internationally
  • Engaging directly with major prospective clients and strategic partners
  • Leading complex enterprise-level commercial discussions

Commercially strong. Technically credible. This combination is fundamental.
You don't necessarily need to be writing production code today.
However, you should have enough technical background to comfortably engage with software engineers about areas such as:

  • SaaS architecture
  • APIs and integrations
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • Software development lifecycles
  • Data and security
  • Testing and QA
  • Product architecture
  • Scalability
  • Development priorities and technical debt

You should understand the difference between something that sounds simple commercially and something that may involve months of development underneath.
Equally, technical expertise alone won't be enough.
You'll need the presence and communication ability to represent the company with sophisticated clients, potentially including major financial institutions and multinational organisations.

Who could this suit?
We are particularly interested in people who have:

  • Led technology businesses through meaningful growth
  • Sold or implemented complex software into enterprise clients
  • Worked internationally or with multinational organisations
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills
  • Genuine understanding of software development
  • Managed multidisciplinary technology teams
  • Successfully connected sales promises with product delivery
  • Built structure and accountability without suffocating innovation

The opportunity The foundations have already been built.
There is a functioning product, an established team and growing commercial validation.
The challenge now is to turn that foundation into a substantially larger technology business.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to have genuine influence over the next chapter rather than inheriting a mature organisation where the direction has already been decided.
Remuneration will reflect the calibre of person required and will be discussed individually with appropriate candidates.

All applications and initial discussions will be treated in strict confidence.
