Job summary

Bayside Health is seeking a Manager to lead and support headspace mental health services across a national network of centres. You will drive community, youth and family engagement and oversee clinicians, admin staff, and service delivery.

This permanent full-time role is based in Elsternwick with travel to Bentleigh and Syndal. You will bring leadership, strong facilitation and a passion for improving access to mental health support for young people.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing.
• Experience leading community and youth engagement initiatives.
• Strong facilitation and public speaking skills, with team leadership.

About us

headspace offers a ‘one stop shop’ for young people aged 12 -25 and their families who may be experiencing mental health challenges. Providing an opportunity for young people to receive help early and promote a 'no wrong door' approach to supporting young people and their families through the provision of GPs, counsellors, Alcohol & other Drug workers and Vocational and Educational support.

What you’ll be doing

As Manager and part of a National network of centres, you will lead and support community, youth and family engagement as well as fostering high quality services and information provided by clinicians, community awareness and admin staff.

You will also be implementing a new and innovative approach to volunteering with the @ease youth participation model that will focus on improving young people’s access and engagement with the service.

You will bring experience in working in mental health, as well as experience in community engagement, health promotion and education, public health behavioural/social sciences, and communications.

About you

• Qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing.
• Leadership experience and/or qualifications
• Facilitation and public speaking skills
• Demonstrated experience working with people with mental health, alcohol and other drug, and other social issues
• Demonstrated experience coordinating and facilitating group programs, events and activities within a community setting
• Experience with social media as a communication tool
• Current Victorian Driver's License
• Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain one and be willing to undergo a Background Check
• Volunteer recruitment, training and coordination
