About the Role:

Tradewind Australia is partnering with a well-regarded Early Learning Centre in Delacombe, Victoria, to recruit a dedicated and inspiring Early Childhood Leader for a permanent, full-time role. This is an opportunity to lead with purpose in a purpose-built centre offering exceptional care for children aged 6 weeks through to school age. You’ll collaborate with a national network of leaders to shape engaging programs and champion quality outcomes. Applications are welcome from experienced Centre Managers, as well as exceptional Assistant Directors or 2ICs ready to step into a senior leadership role.   • Inspire, guide, and empower educators through leadership, coaching, and mentoring to build a collaborative, high-performing team
  • Lead the centre with integrity, aligning with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standards (NQS), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and VEYLDF
  • Champion the design, delivery, and evaluation of inclusive, child-led learning programs
  • Build authentic relationships with children, families, staff, and the community
  • Oversee enrolments, rostering, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure smooth operations
  • Lead quality improvement and reflective practice initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to legislative and regulatory standards, including Child Safe Standards and OH&S requirements
  • Nurture professional development through mentoring, training, and regular performance conversations
  • Act as a trusted contact for families and represent the service during external audits and regulatory visits
  • Live and promote the centre’s vision, values, and philosophy in leadership decisions

Required Qualifications & Attributes

  • Diploma, Graduate Diploma, or Degree in Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved)
  • In-depth knowledge of the EYLF and NQS
  • Strong understanding of compliance, regulations, and Child Safe Standards for Victorian services
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer and documentation skills
  • Current Working with Children Check or VIT
  • Approved First Aid Certificate including Asthma, CPR and Anaphylaxis training
  • Current legal working rights in Australia

Skills & Experience

  • Proven leadership experience in an Australian Early Learning setting as a Director, Manager, 2IC, or Assistant Director
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of educators and support staff
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong financial and operational management capabilities, including budgeting and resource allocation
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with children, families, staff, and stakeholders
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing professional development
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with children, colleagues, and families
